How to label/tag Test (X-Ray) for regression testing

For each software release we have approximately 1000 new Test (X-Ray). At he start of each release what is the correct way to label/tag the Test (X-Ray) so we have complete coverage, based on the Requirements, but do NOT overlap with other Test (X-Ray)?
