How to create issue type that is only visible to one person

Rishav Garg April 13, 2021

Hello

I want team members in Jira to issue requests to our manager for reimbursement of expenses. Those requests could be accepted/denied by the manager. How to make those tickets invisible to the other users in Jira? Please suggest a workflow too for the process.

Thanks.

Hi Rishav and welcome to the community,

I think you just need a workflow that has approval build in so that the manager can approve the request.

You can find a lot of information about approvals and how to set it up here (for jira service management) : https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/set-up-an-approval-stage-for-a-request/

If you are on Jira software, you can do approvals by adding a condition to a workflow which only grants approve/deny permissions to the manager: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/edit-an-issue-workflow/

If you want to restrict issues to certain people or groups, you will need issue security:

https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-issue-security-schemes/

Hope this points you in the right direction,

Laurens
