Forcing Line Breaks for the summary line on the agile planning board

Hi,

we are using JIRA Agile for our Sprint planning and have our teams agreed on a specific structure for writing all our scrum user stories. We are using the story summary line to be the "As a (role) I want to (target) because (benefit)" which sometimes can get quite long.

That being said, this summary line often gets cut off halfway on the Agile Planning Board if the screen isn't capable of displaying the whole interface at once.

Is there any way to force a line break for the summary field? "\\", "\n" or "<br>" doesn't work on that field.

Any idea is appreciated.

I'm afraid not.  The summary is supposed to be a short, human readable sentence which summarises the issue.  It's not the place for the story statement, it's aimed as a brief reminder of the critical point of the issue (In most cases, this will be the (target) part of the story statement).   As such, it's been coded as a short text field which is displayed on a single line and doesn't support any breaks.
