Error setting "Hours per day" with decimal values

Ainhoa Etxeberria May 28, 2021

Hello,

We are trying to change "hours per day" from 8 to 8.16 hours but we get the following error:

"The specified hours per day is not valid. It must be able to resolve into a whole number of minutes."

So we can't activate the time tracking.

How can we change "hours per day" by a decimal value?

We are using JIRA on a standalone server v8.5.6 version.

Thanks in advance

Hi Ainhoa - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

That is very strange to use a decimal like that for hours. Why not just use 8.2 or8.15? The difference for the later is literally seconds.

Our workday is 8 hours and 10 minutes.

We will use 8,2 or 8.15.

Thank you for your answer.

Hi @Ainhoa Etxeberria ,

welcome to the community.

If you try 8.16 hours, this would be 8 hours and 3 Minutes and 45 Seconds.

This is not supported by Jira, as the Message states. So you have to set it to a value, that will solve to a whole number, so 3 or 4 Minutes would be possible.

8.16 not would be 8 hours, 9 minutes and 36 seconds?

We wanted to use 8.16 because our workday is 8 hours and 10 minutes.

We will use 8.15 or 8.20.

Thank you.
