Current Project vs Recent Project

I'm sure this is a stupid question, but I am completely new to Jira Agile (and to Agile for that matter) and have been tasked to explain the difference between a Current project and a Recent project in Jira.

Our company is just starting the transition to an Agile environment and we haven't incorporated sprints as of yet. When I look at our projects we have 3 showing... 1 current and 2 recent - all 3 are currently being worked on.

Any explaination would be very helpful.

Thanks!
