Connecting Jira with GitHub Team

Michal Koza January 21, 2019

My organisation has GitHub Team subscription.

Can we connect to Jira using the OAuth + DVCS method?

Following

Connect a GitHub Enterprise account to Jira Software

section from https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/connect-jira-cloud-to-github-814188429.html

I successfully created Jira app in my Github, but I get the 404 Github page when I try to register the DVCS account

Hi, Michal

The DVCS method is still valid only for Enterprise accounts in Github.

If you only have a Team account, then you should use the Github app to integrate it with Jira.

You can have more information about the difference between this app compared to the old method :)

Let me know if this helps!

Do you know when this will be made available for Team Github accounts? The Github app doesn't have the best reviews (2.5 stars) so would prefer not to have to use it.

Hi, my organization has GitHub Enterprise, we already have DVCS.

We receive an email from Atlassian telling us:

"The DVCS Connector (for Jira Cloud only) is being decommissioned in favor of the new integration and will stop syncing data on 30 June 2019."

It didn't mention which is the "new" integration tool, doing a research I guess is "GitHub app for Jira Software"

I added the app in Jira but when it asks for set Organization it tries to redirect to GitHub but not to GitHub Enterprise.

What should we have to do?

Thanks!
