Bug at status-transition in board with safari Edited

with Safari 12.0 and 12.0.3 (Mojave and older versions of macOS) I got the following "An error occurred" message after a drag & drop status transition in any JIRA 8.1.0 kanban board (I created a new one just for testing).

With all other browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Internet Explorer) on Windows and macOS this problem doesn't occur.
I don't have any other version of Safari for testing.

I either couldn't test Safari 5.1.7 on Windows, because JIRA doesn't work at all (no asynchronous loading via JavaScript).

Does anyone have a solution (other than switching to another browser)?

Hi Henrik,

Sorry to hear about this problem.  So far I have not been able to reproduce this specific error.  Nor have I found any other bug reports that might relate to this issue.

In my Mac OSX 10.13.6 version, I found that my Safari has been updated to the 12.1.1 version as of today.  I'm not sure if this is a factor here, but it might be interesting to test to see if this is something that the latest versions of Safari also see or not.  Technically Jira supports the latest version of Safari according to our supported platforms pages.

It is possible that there is something else in your Jira environment that might be a causing factor here.  From looking at your screenshot, it looks like you have a few different user plugins in Jira.  It might be worth trying to see if you can disable these other user plugins (with the exception of Jira Software / Jira Agile as you will need this to have access to kanban boards).  There are also steps you could try in Disabling and enabling apps.  Of course you would likely want to do this in a staging instance of Jira, or while your users are not trying to use the site.  Disabling these other plugins would leave your users unable to utilize their functions at all.

I am curious to see if you can still recreate this problem with these other plugins disabled.  If not, it tends to indicate that these plugins are having an unexpected influence here.

Apart from that method, it might also help to create a new sample kanban project, and then see if you can recreate this problem there as well.

These troubleshooting steps I hope would give us more information about this size and scope of this problem at the very least.

Tried creating new kanban board with sample data, it behaves the same as the old ones.

I have the same exact problem now. Have you been able to solve it?

BTW, my environment is the latest Mojave and Safari.

According to the error message: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_14_5) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/12.1.1 Safari/605.1.15

Hey, no, I don't have any solution right now.

What plugins do you use?

ScriptRunner, BigPicture, CRM for JIRA, Reminder for JIRA... and that's it (not to mention Atlassian's own plugins like JEMH, Log Work, etc.).
