Automation for Jira - Server

Hello,

I am very interested in this product to get full automation in our Jira Servers.

But my question which I couldn't answer to when trigger an action of "Clone Issue" or "Create Issue" is it possible to be launched into project in different server/instance?

Hi @Moheeb Qupty  -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

I believe that is not possible with automation for Jira.  There are some suggested improvements in the automation backlog around this idea, and the notes indicate there are other marketplace add-ons specifically supporting cross-instance communication which are better suited.

You might be able to approximate this behavior using webhooks and REST API calls.

Actually we are planning to migrate our "other" projects from old instance so that all our projects will be under one instance/server by February.

So not sure if it's worth to develop webhooks/REST APIs for that matter.

Once all under one server I think Automation for Jira would be enough.
