database is not empty issue

Natalia Ozhigova December 4, 2020

Now I'm installing JIRA Software on the computer having confluence with MySql 8.0.

When configuring the database for JIRA there is issue 'database is not empty'.

But the database has just created and really empty, it haven't any table.

I tried set up with different mysql driver (8.0.22, 8.021,8,0.19, 5.1.48 and 5.1.47) but it doesn't help.

I use ubuntu ver 20.04

Please help me.

Hi Natalia,

welcome to the Atlassian Community!

While the first thing is to trust what you say (everybody would - although a direct look into the database management system would be easier) I just wanted to double check if there might some mismatch in observation...

At least you said Confluence is already installed. Maybe this is already the thing.

What me worries a bit is that your profile states you are using a cloud product. Not that I would be sure at all but probably there are a few things here that got mixed up.

The basic setup is comes here but I think you have seen that already:

Could you show us the output of "show databases" of your database management system along with a "show tables"?

Cheers,
Daniel

Thank you for answering. I connected to DB using 'config.sh' tools, but then I got encoding issue, so when I configuring my DB right (add encoding configuration to my.cnf files) everything started working.
