We are getting a lot of requests from people to be notified when tickets are created in certain request types. Initially, we had been doing this with automation rules, but that is getting to be quite complex and difficult to maintain.
I was thinking this morning that it may be easier to instead have the users set up saved filters with email subscriptions to make sure they are getting notified when certain tickets / requests types are created.
Does anyone have any experience with this, or any other suggestions on how you've handled this?
Thanks,
Matt
Hi @Matt Harford ,
Would filter subscriptions be of use to you?

This will not give them a direct email notification when they are created but they will get period updates.

Hi Matt:
In our environment, we configured custom notification via issue type specific WF at creation time using post function calls. It works well, but the to email recipients are hard coded.
To achieve this setup, we have this add-on "Jira Misc Workflow Extensions (JMWE)" which is an excellent add-on with many functionality. https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/292/jira-misc-workflow-extensions-jmwe?hosting=cloud&tab=overview
Hope this gives you another alternative.
