How to retrieve user data in Jira after deletion

Ahmad.AAlghamdi July 4, 2021

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to retrieve user data in Jira after deletion? cuz when deleting, all the dashboards were created by the user been removed immediately!

So, I don't know how to retrieve all that. Is it by retrieving user, all dashboards and related tickets comes back? or we have another way to do it?

I need your assistance please.

Regards,

You would need to restore a backup to get the user's dashboards back.  Deletion deletes everything, there's no records in the database any more.

Yep, but no one asking this question ever has a backup in alignment with the instance in time just prior to deletion. 😜

If deleted you cannot retrieve. What was deleted, issues or boards?

User deleted. and because of that all dashboards created by that user has gone.

Yep, deleting users is a bad thing. You will need to recreate the dashboards. If you do happen to have a backup that was performed immediately prior to the user delete action and did not make other changes (new or updated issues, etc) then you could restore from backup as Nic mentioned.  Please understand that when importing a backup you will override all data. So any changes since the backup will be lost. Here is an article about how are you restore from a backup - import-issues
