I'm looking to create a recurring change and sub tasks to do monthly server maintenance. I know I can use automation to create an issue. But when I try to create a sub task after the issue it I get the following error. "The rule has been configured with components that require issues to be provided by the trigger. You need to use the option to run JQL to provide issues. The following components require issues: Create sub-tasks"

What I'm trying to do is to create the following change that runs every month.

Change: Monthly Server Maintenance

Sub Task: Install Updates

Sub Task:  Reboot Server

Any assistance would be appreciated.

On your Scheduled automation, there is a box that says "Run a JQL search and execute actions for each issue in the query." make sure to check that off, and then you will need to create a JQL with the output being the issues that you want to create sub-tasks for.

Hello could you please give an example of the JQL? I'm stuck on this part.. I'm not sure how to create a JQL with the output being an issue that doesn't exist yet because the trigger has yet to run?
