JDP for growth experiments and tracking start up progress

Jonny Fields August 4, 2024

Hi Everyone,

First time poster here. I'm Jonny a start up founder in Sydney Australia. I have a constant struggle to manage startup experiments and build a high velocity of learning without constantly switching tools (Notion, Jira, Todoist etc) but since using JDP have got into a good rhythm of delivery tickets so I'm exploring how to use JDP structure for growth experiments and operations of my startup.

Has anybody done this before?

Thanks!

Hi @Jonny Fields I've chatted with a number of teams who were using the tool this way (it was actually a use case for one of our first lighthouse users 3 years ago). What are you after?

Sorry for the delay, I missed this message. I'm after some practical tips and workflow suggestions on how to:

  1. Use JDP to capture, and prioritise ideas for product, growth, and operations (I know JDP is product focus but I love the set up I want to leverage it for all my startup tasks - I'm a solo founder working with an engineer
  2. Define my weekly or bi-weekly priorities from EVERYTHING I need to do in my startup across product, eng, ops, growth, and admin and plan my days and weeks (I work full time in a corporate job so need to have laser focus in the weeks to work lunchtimes, evening and weekends and working out of the backlog gets a bit overwhelming and I get distracted
  3. Transfer my priorities onto a jira delivery board so I can work in timeboxed sprints and not be distracted by the million ideas in backlog and focus on execution
  4. Run weekly and monthly retros to capture learnings and inform my next sprint

Any suggestions would really mean the world! Thanks.

Happy to share access to my board and to help your team and be part of any product feedback calls to help out.
P.S. Well done on creating an awesome product.
