Autofill Dates from JPD in JQL and Automation are BLANK

Hello community,

I have a further challenge with JPD, automation/JQL and "Autofill" dates.

It appears that any "Autofill" date is only visible from within views created in the JPD project.

If I write a JQL and show a column that is an "autofill" defined field, it shows blank in the JQL. Similarly, if I capture the smart value of the "autofill" field from within JIRA automation it is also blank.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, have you found a solution/work around?

I am just wondering if this is the same scenario as calculated fields in JPD - Is this a limitation of the "autofill" dates fields? In that you can only see the field contents from within a JPD project view?

We really wanted to be able to extract these rollup dates in our filter queries and also make decisions in automations based on their contents/values.

Hi @David Laine yes that's a current limitation: the calculation for autofill dates happens in the front-end, not the back-end. That means that it's only available in the JPD views and the CSV/JPEG exports, not from JQL or from Automation rules.

It's something we do plan to change later so these scenarios are supported.

Hi @Tanguy Crusson

Please, do you have any workaround to propose?
