The reason History is important for PMs is because:
Would this be a feature that is coming soon? (In the meantime, is it safe to assume Atlassian captures the Idea history, but doesn't expose the data yet?)
You can view the history if you access the issue through the regular Advanced Search.
Search for it in Advanced Issue Search, like you are creating a filter. Then you will be able to see the issue in the traditional Jira Software view and be able to access the history tab.
They have said they know that is not ideal and they will eventually add it into the JPD view but at least it is available.
