I just started using JPD and noticed we can track the delivery using other cards/issues from Jira Software. I started using epics for that but it does not fit in our scenario since a deliverable from JPD does not match the Epic items, because, our items being delivered in a version/release might be in different epics.
So can we link a release to a JPD Idea for tracking the delivery ?
Hi @Thiago Pinheiro thanks for your question.
I'm curious about how you would like this to work. Would you like to link an idea to a version/release as an alternative to epics? For example if an idea has 2 releases, do you want the delivery progress bar you see for that idea to aggregate the delivery progress across those 2 releases?
Exactly! I haven't thought about multiple releases, but I suppose it would be helpful, in the same way that we can link multiple epics/issues.

@Thiago Pinheiro , this is a very good request. Do you have any feedback about it?

I haven't tested, but you can track a date to a date on the implementation issues. Those issues can have dates assigned by the fix version. So I think in a roundabout way you can.

I could see this being very beneficial - or even being able to connect a JPD project's custom field to an Asset object to support a dropdown list of values. If you could do that, you could potentially have an asset schema to support versions that projects could 'opt' into. Now I need to go see if I could do this either directly or with automation. Good question though @Thiago Pinheiro , interested to hear how others solve this.

The problem that I see using a custom field is that it won't provide the delivery progress bar neither the delivery status like the image below:

@Nate Whitehead I'd be very interested if you find a way to connect an asset object to JPD. From what I understand, it is currently not supported, but would be very helpful to our team.
