download chat data for an epic

is there a way to download the chat data for an epic. 

or use an api to get this data. 

We update the latest remarks using chat and want to pull this in multiple reports.

I hope you are doing great!

When you mention "chat" are you referring to Discussion on an Epic?

If yes, you can get it via Enterprise Insights using a query similar to the one below:

SELECT * FROM current_dw.Discussion where [FK Object Item ID]=[EPIC ID]

No the chat field(s) from work objects, meetings, etc. are not available outside of Jira Align.  They are not exportable either via the API or in the platform export function.  They also do not appear in the (current) Enterprise Insights schema.

My first thought was to use the rest api. Unfortunately, based on looking at the documentation for the rest api 2.0, it doesn't look like you can access the chat that way.

There may be another way, but I can't think of one off the top of my head.
