Rank/Order on Feature Maps Doesn't Save

Given the flexibility of being able to create columns and rows, we are using Feature Maps for what we refer to as our 'Committed Roadmap' for the quarter.  Turns out that any ordering you do within a cell, undoes after refreshing the page.  Looking at the help page it appears this is by design :(

Notes: The rank or order of Features within the cells will not persist after a page refresh

So, two questions ...

  1. Why? What's the explanation for why it doesn't hold the new order?  What's the point in allowing re-ordering to happen at all?
  2. What is the default sort order as we can't seem to see a pattern?

@Stephanie Davis The ordering appears to be by the Jira Align ID.  I believe the the drag-n-drop functionality exists to allow you to move the Feature to other row and/or columns.
