PI field is not getting updated in Stories in Jira; what is needed to be done to trigger it?

We are using Jira Align and Jira Cloud (Atlassian)

We have created:

One Jira project for creation of Features in Jira, as per Atlassian best practice.

Multiple Jira projects for creation of Stories in Jira.

We have also created Program Increment read only custom field in Jira and configured integration in Jira Align in line with Atlassian best practice (https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Align-articles/Adding-the-Parent-Feature-Name-and-Program-Increment-PI-Fields/ba-p/1258049)

Program Increment is directly mapped (updated) to Features (Jira Epics) in Jira Align. However in case of Stories, Program Increment is mapped by way of 1) linkage of Stories to Features (Jira Epics) and 2) Mapping of Stories to an Iteration, which is in turn mapped to the Program Increment.

We are able to see, Program Increment for the Features (Jira Epics) in Jira. 

We are unable to see, Program Increment for the Stories in Jira. What is needed to be done to trigger it.

@Vinay Sharma, The syncing of the Program Increment is a one-way sync from Jira Align to Jira for features and does not sync for stories. Take a look at the PI field under the Custom Fields section of the Jira Integration Setup article on the Jira Align Knowledge Base which mentions this.

Thanks Sam; have two queries here

1. For some of the Stories, Jira is showing up Program Increment. What could be the reason for that?

2. To trigger the sync between Jira Align and Jira, I am using the following path:

Jira Align>Administration>Jira Setting>Run. Is there it the right way or there is any other way to sync up

@Vinay Sharma I am not sure why Program Increment is showing up for stories. Are you sure that it is the same custom field in Jira that is used on the feature (Jira Epic) screen which is mapped to PI on the Jira Setup tab in Jira Align?

The Jira Connector is an automated integration between Jira Align and Jira. You can view the frequency that Jira and Jira Align sync issues by looking at the following two fields on the Jira Setup tab in Jira Align: 

• Timer on Jira Issues. The number in minutes for how often the Jira issues synchronize with Jira Align. Jira Align queries data based on the Jira project and issue type combinations it is configured for. 
• Timer on continuous push to Jira. The number in minutes to set the interval for the continuous push of data from Jira Align to Jira and not make any Jira API calls. The default value is 1.5 minutes.
