I want to be able to extract Dependencies and Teams in Jira Align into Power Query Power BI.
Hello @Armando Jr Castillo
The best way to achieve it is via Enterprise Insights.
Jira Align Enterprise Insights is a SQL Server data warehouse that you can connect to (via SQL Server DB connection) using a data visualization software such as Tableau or Microsoft Power BI to create custom reports and dashboards.
If you want to write SQL queries, you can connect to it using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
Enterprise Insights is a series of read-only views of the instance DB, which is pulled from AWS to Azure.
This is NOT a direct dump of the customer Production DB; instead, it is a series of views created from multiple tables in the Production DB.
I hope it helps!
Should you need any help with the above instructions, please kindly raise a JA support ticket using this link and we'll be more than happy to assist you!

@James Webber Enterprise Insights is going to be the most efficient and performant way to access your Jira Align data for custom reporting especially with Power BI. Enterprise Insights is on a Azure SQL Server database and we also support Azure AD authentication with Enterprise Insights. So it works well with Power BI.
You can get a free trial of Enterprise Insights that can help you do a proof of value for your leadership to justify purchasing it. Just reach out to your Atlassian Enterprise Advocate and they can help you with getting a free trial setup.

It's quite hard to justify that the tool we brought (Jira Align) doesn't have any custom reporting but we can buy another tool to get the insights we expected.
That is a bit of a hard sell.

I do this manually using the “export” to csv on each screen. Then store in SharePoint and get Power BI to pick up from there. It’s very manual. I don’t know another way without enterprise insights.
api could be used but there is 100 line limit so you would need to batch it.
