Can the deleted Sprints in Jira Align be recreated via Jira Sync Up?

Vinay Sharma August 4, 2020

I am using the option to create Sprints in Jira Align via Jira. In case I delete the Sprints in Jira Align for a team to remove duplicate Sprints / Sprints with incorrect dates etc. Will these be recreated via Sync Up in Jira Align from Jira (Jira Management->Jira Sprints->Sync Board Now?

Hi Vinay!

If you simply delete the sprints in Jira Align and then run a board sync again those sprints would be recreated. If you want to avoid this you can...

1. When on the Jira Sprints Tab (Admin > Connectors > Jira Management), for a given board, use the "Ignore Sprint from mappings" option (click the ... next to the sprint) for sprints you don't want to have recreated when you do a board sync (see screenshot).

2. Only use "Resync Future Sprints" as this will only do a board sync for Future sprints (not active or closed ones), meaning those old ones you deleted will not get recreated.

I hope this helps!
