New to HipChat. How do I start a chat?

I am new to HipChat. I have tried to figure this out on my own but haven't been able to. How do I start a chat session or send a message to someone?

Click on "New Chat" Button, it will open up a dialog, search for user/room you want to chat and click on the person/room returned by the search result.
