What are the system requirements for a Crucible Server?

L. Schimmel June 16, 2015

Hello everyone,

after a long evaluation period, I have already ordered a unlimited users Crucible license for our company. Now I am about to order a suitable Server. As I have never ordered any hardware before in my work life, I am insecure about ordering the right machine.

We are already running a JIRA Server with about 1000 users, but that system ist already quite busy so Crucible needs either a dedicated physical server or a virtual machine to run on.

We will retrieve the source files from a subversion server that is located in a different city.

The user database will be adopted from the JIRA server.

I think there will be at most 200-300 Developers using the Server in Total at the beginning.

So what would you recommend what I should order at the IT-Department?

  • Physical Server or virtual machine?
  • How many processors should be provided?

  • How much memory should be provided?

  • How much space is required?

Best regards

Leonard Schimmel
