Diff files from different branches

GLENN MAYER May 21, 2013

Is it possible to use the diff feature in Crucible to show differences between the same file in two different code branches? For instance I have a pom.xml file in the /2013.08 release branch in Perforce. I would like to diff that against the same pom.xml file in the /2013.05 release branch. From a source control perspective, these are essentially 2 different files (we have simultaneous development going on), but from the developers' perspective, they are different versions of the same file.

Hmm..I thought I could attached a screen shot, which would make this clearer...

Anyway, is there a way to do this? In Perforce, I can diff any two files...

Hi Glenn,

It seems that you are looking for the following feature requests:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/FE-239

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CRUC-1542

I'm not sure it's the same thing. Those outstanding requests appear to relate to the ability to diff entire branches. What I'm looking for is the ability to diff ANY two files, not just different versions of the same file.

Since it is not possible to diff between branches, it is not possible to diff ANY two files from different branches too. Please add your comment to the feature request to include the ability to diff ANY two files from different branches.
