Crucible server corruption

Dean July 19, 2024

Hi.

We appear to have experienced some corruption with our Crucible server.

  1. Starting the Atlassian Crucible service immediately stops.
  2. The config.xml file is 15KB and full of nulls.
  3. The crucible_backup_2024_07_14.zip is 2GB instead of the usual 10GB of the previous 7 backup zips. We performed a mass re-index on 07-03 to 07-05, and the latest 10GB backup is from 07-07, so at least that's good news.
  4. The stdout.txt file contains an error consistent with a null config file:
    2024-07-19 14:37:48,281 INFO - loading config from file: C:\Atlassian\Data\fecru\config.xml
2024-07-19 14:37:48,375 ERROR - Problem with config file: org.apache.xmlbeans.XmlException: error: Content is not allowed in prolog.

What's the best strategy to recover? I assume it's something to do with crucible_backup_2024_07_07.zip.

thanks for any help!
