Inclusive meeples!
A great blog post about how Atlassian's approach to meeples has changed to become more inclusive.
I remember in my previous role, I commissioned some community artwork. Out of over 40 meeples, only three were female. Worse, nobody else on my team at the time even noticed!
At first I was going to bring it up for discussion and then I decided to make an executive decision to ask for more gender balance. Sadly, I had to make that same request of this design team every time I requested artwork from that point on.
What a difference when looking at the thoughtful and iterative approach from our designers here! I was particularly pleased when plus-sized meeples started to appear as that is an element of diversity that is often overlooked. 🙂
