For sundry reasons, we've had two crowd servers in house. However, the latest releases of Crowd give us the flexiablity we need to delegate administration of groups and members from our applications thus allowing us to consolidate the two crowd databases.
Does Crowd have an API, rest or otherwise, that would allow us to recreate the users, groups, and memberships from one Crows into the other one?
Crowd has both REST and SOAP APIs, and java clients for both. We recommend you use the REST API.
Note that neither of these APIs will expose the hashed passwords of users; you'll have to query the database directly to get those (from the cwd_users table), and then configure your new Crowd instance to use the same password encoder for each directory as was being used for each directory in your old 2 Crowd servers.
