Crowd and Active Directory forrest (Global Catalog)

Deleted user October 13, 2011

I am evaluating Crowd for an large Active Directory forest which includes some domains and subdomains.

My Questions:

  1. Is it possible or necessary to use the global catalog (see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc728188%28WS.10%29.aspx) on port 3268 in Crowd or has Crowd to be connected to each (sub-)domain individually?
  2. How the user name has to be if the user name exists in more than one subdomain?
  3. Are 80000 users too many user for Crowd?

Thanks in advance for your answers

Just to answer your last part. I am currently tryin to use some 50k users with crowd and it is going fine performance wise.

Only issue which is coming now is in Jira, where for every User picker we have this auto complete option, which was working fine when we had Active directory with some 700 users, but with 50k users that is not working any more and we will have to use the popup window to search for user.
