Can not add crowd as directory to confluence: Response from the server: Not Found

OnurÖ May 22, 2018

Hi,

I want to use crowd as authentication backend in confluence however, I cannot add crowd as a directory. While I am trying to add I receive:

Connection test failed. Response from the server:
Not Found

message in confluence, and receive following exception log.  I receive similar error from JIRA

Confluence version: 6.2.2, Crowd version: 3.1.1

my crowd url is: http://testserver.wt.mycorp.pre.corp:8095/crowd

there is no proxy being used between confluence and crowd.

Many Thanks for your help.

Hi Onur,

Could there be a name resolution or network connectivity error causing the Crowd server URL to be "not found" when you test from Confluence?

Please try pinging the Crowd hostname: testserver.wt.mycorp.pre.corp from the command line on the Confluence server. To make sure port 8095 is accessible from Confluence please try telnetting to the port. If you have wget installed on the Confluence server, please use it to see if you can reach Crowd from the Confluence server with:

 wget http://testserver.wt.mycorp.pre.corp:8095/crowd

 Thanks,

Ann
