Secure your Crowd Data Center SSO 2.0 authentication

Atlassian recently released a new feature that you may not have heard of yet: Crowd Datacenter SSO 2.0.

Crowd Datacenter SSO 2.0 is based on SAML and all services connected to Crowd automatically reroute the user to the Crowd Login page.

The user is forwarded to the Crowd login from any service connected to Crowd, no matter where he comes from.

This new feature offers advantages both for the user and the administrator:

  • more intuitive workflow for the user
  • less maintenance effort for the admin

Now, what does that mean for the security of the login? There aren’t many add-ons out there to protect the Crowd SSO 2.0 login. The SecSign ID Multi-Factor Authentication add-on offers convenient usability for the user and secure protection for your data.

The SecSign ID 2FA add-on is highly customizable and can be adjusted to fit your requirements perfectly. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Define groups of users for 2FA requirements, no 2FA needed or strong protection (for example for admin accounts)
  • Define 2FA methods to be used, for example SecSign ID app, Mail OTP, Fido, TOTP, SMS OTP
  • Trusted devices and duration of trust for that device
  • Basic design customizations
  • DMZ and IP SafeZone settings to limit 2FA to external access, for example Home Office

Go ahead and try the add-on for free! No need for complicated configurations and setup. Just install it, take a look at it and decide for yourself.
