I am looking to use JIRA to auto-create a confluence page based on a confluence template.
Can I copy a template using "Run CLI Action - JIRA" addon? (I am currently evaluating this.)
I am guessing I need to use something like the one below. Can I use the template id here instead of the page id?
....... --action copyPage --id "341566327" --newTitle "%original_summary%" --parent "Home" .......
No. We always recommend using regular pages as "templates" for automation. There are a number of advantages as well like copying page hierarchies or entire spaces including attachments for instance.
Ok. For my particular scenario, I need to trigger a page creation from a template. (I am not interested in copying page hierarchies or entire spaces). So, I can copy a template to create a page to make this work.
Eventually it would be beneficial to trigger a page creation from a template especially when I am using JIRA to trigger page creation. Otherwise, I will need to have a template in Confluence (for general confluence use) + a duplicate page for this template just for CLI to be able to copy this.

Confluence traditionally has had poor support for template access from remote APIs. Still the case for server I think, but I see Cloud now has some.

Thanks. Since there is a workaround, that should suffice for now.
