"Create" popup loads endless after migration MySQL

Stefan Kirch March 8, 2018

I re-created the index from scratch like discribed in one of your support documents. - No change.

Then I checked the suggestions from this support document: https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/unable-to-create-pages-or-spaces-the-popup-loads-forever-after-confluence-upgrade-to-5-x-or-6-x-330793034.html

The check for "Cause 4" returns that the table spaces doesn´t exist.

In the log file I couldn´t find any information that seems to be useful to me.

How could I proceed to analyze that problem?

Hi Stefan,

Could you just confirm with us the process you took to migrate to MySQL?

What version Confluence are you on? What database were you using previously? What version of MySQL are you on now? Was Confluence upgraded during the migration? And just to confirm, you are not able to create any pages at all in any space?

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

Shannon

Hi Shannon,

thanks for your quick reply.

I thought that I upgraded confluence a few days ago. But it seems like I had it wrong in mind. Looks like I just upgraded jira :-(

Yust checked the buil numbers in confluence.cfg.xml and it´s 7601 vs 7502.

Shame on me that I didn´t check again before.

How can I proceed now? I was thinking about:

- uninstall confluence

- install version 7502 (build in db like before)

- import backup

- upgrade

- migrate to mysql

Regards,

Stefan

Stefan,

If you're not migrating Confluence to a different server, then I would just use the process at Upgrading Confluence. Once you confirm that the upgrade went smoothly, at that point you can migrate to the other database.

If you actually need to migrate Confluence to another server, you can follow this linked documentation.

Shannon

Thanks for your reply.

Since I have been in a hurry I just did the following without waitung for your answer:

- reinstall the old version (directly with mysql database).

- Import the old backup

- upgrade the version

This worked perfectly fine. Thanks again for your help!
