confluence Skip setup wizard and update license

We updated confluence datacenter license in console and during recycle after few days it is forcing for setup wizard for server to datacenter migration. My business now decided to go back to server license , Now how can i skip this setup wizard and update new server license and make environment work.

need help, can we update developer license from backend in confluence so that it skips migration to datacenter setup wizard. Attached screenshot. I need to skip this migration as we dont want to go to datacenter and should stay in single server only.

Hi Balaji,

You may check with or contact the Atlassian support on this issue since you have a Data center license. Usually, the below procedure also works and suggest you try it out in a Test / Stage environment first.

Please keep a backup of the below items for a safer side

   Confluence home directory 

   Database Dump

In order to change the license back to server, please do the following;

• shutdown the confluence instance
• open confluence.cfg.xml (inside confluence-home directory) and check for

<property name="atlassian.license.message">XXXXXXXXXXX</property>

• Verify if this is your Datacenter license. If it is, then remove the license add the server license (ex: replace XXXXXXXXX with AAAAAAAAAAA) If AAAAAAA will be your server license.
• save the file and start the confluence.

You will not be prompted with data center wizard.

You can update the license by logging into confluence admin section -> license and update the new one. This should save the new license.

Iam not able to login to confluence as setup wizard for confluence migration window coming when I enter my confluence url
