Why is a table "smart link" only showing the full JIRA url?

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
To whom it may concern,
I am updating a dBase column field (configured as a "smart link" with "full URL" DISABLED)
When I first enter Jira URL, this shows the Jira "Project" name (and associated project icon)
After I leave/come back to/or just refresh the page, this column no longer shows the Jira Project name/Icon and only shows the full JIRA URL
