Why does the table of contents macro add bullets and number?

Sara Juel September 25, 2018

I have changed the bullet style to "none" and added the numbering yet I am getting both. How to I get rid of the default "disc" bullets. It appears how I want in the preview but not on the page? I have tried to delete the table of contents and re-add it yet it still pops an error. Also, is there a way to have a drop down so only the main sections show unless you expand the table? See sample picture below.Table of Contents.PNG

Hi Sara,

that sounds off. What error do you get when adding the macro again? In general, having only a section numbering or no indicators at all is possible and working. Does this only happen on this page? And I'm not sure about a collapsible TOC at all right now or how to maybe improvise it using different macros (Expand + TOC). But that's not very maintainable and user-friendly.

Sorry Max, error was probably the wrong verbiage. The preview in the macro shows up how I want it to but it adds disc bullet-points on the webpage. I have attached a screen shot of both the website view and the macro view. This happens in all pages. It seems as though it ignore my non and keeps the default. Webpage view.PNGMacro Table View.PNG

Just a wild guess, what kind of tool/settings do you use to change the overall appearance of your Confluence? Maybe you should have a look at that global settings/stylesheets as it seems your settings get overwritten.

I am using zen foundation in conjunction with Confluence. Ill try looking into that. Thanks Max!
