Version control for Word document I attach in confluence?

Nivedita November 3, 2019

Would like to attach a word document in confluence , that will be frequently modified and reuploaded.

Will I be able to get the previous versions of the word document attached, if it is modified and reuploaded?

Hi @Nivedita

If you're using the Attachments Macro, there's an option you can tick for "Include old attachment versions"

If you download, edit and re-upload (attaching it to the same page without changing the filename), Confluence can maintain version history for your document.

Hi @Nivedita

Do you still need the Word file, or would it also be an option to move the content that you're currently managing in Word to a Confluence page, and then track the changes using the page revision functionality in Confluence?

Cheers,
Nils
