We currently allow users to choose between the Documentation Theme or the Global Theme.
We have utilized the Custom HTML section to include a global CSS that we control to give the site a global header. We put the HTML for this header in the common-header.vm which is luckily called by the Documentation Theme.
However, there are some other things like metatags, and Google Analytics tags that require editing the main layout. That main layout only affects the Default Global theme and not the documentation theme.
I have tried to unpackage the Documentation theme, edit it, repackage it, but it will not load properly when I do this.
Has any updated the vm files in the documentation theme in Confluvne 5.1.x?
I realize these two themes will be combined, but I don't know when and I need a workaround now.
Hi Kenn,
You can actually customise the Documentation theme in Confluence Admin >> Theme >> Documentation Theme >> Configure Theme. This is the safest way to edit the documentation theme and the changes can easily be reverted if needed.
Hope this helps

You're describing basic alterations and configuration. I'm talking about updating the vm files to include things like metatags that come with the TechTime SEO plugin, and Google Analytics tags, etc..
If you have your Global theme set to the default theme then you have no access to the layouts of the documentation theme.
In 3.5.x I was able to unpack the documentation theme jar file, make the edits, repackage the jar and deploy the changes. That did not work in 5.1.x
What is the suggested method for editing the layouts files for the documentation theme?
