Hi
I am working on upgrading and moving the Jira, Confluence and Crowd to Data Centre version to enable the High Availability in application.
In current setup, there is Jira version 7.3. Confluence 6.1.2 and Crowd 2.11.1 in Server.
All 3 applications are using Oracle 12c database in current setup which is planned to move to PostreSQL database.
Can you please provide the steps to achieve this feat which includes Migration from Server to Data Centre version, Jira and Confluence upgrade to latest versions, database server migration and VM migration as well.
Look forward to your help on this.
Cheers
Harman
Hio Harman,
Thanks for reaching out during the planning stage. It should reduce surprises during the implementation. Here is the recommended sequence of changes/updates:
Upgrade existing instances to enterprise releases, here are the upgrade guides: Confluence 6.6.4, Jira 7.6, Crowd 3.2
migrate DB from oracle 12c to postgresql: Crowd: Migrate to Another Database, Confluence: Migrate to Another Database, Jira. Upgrading JIRA applications
migrate to the new vm’s: Migrating Jira applications to another server, Migrating Crowd Between Servers . Migrating Confluence Between Servers
migrate to data center: Atlassian Data Center migration plan, Moving to Confluence Data Center, Moving to Crowd Data Center
I look forward to any follow up questions.
Thanks,
Ann
PS - test between each step so if something goes wrong we can catch it early
