Hi Atlassian Community,
are there any other ways to publish a page besides clicking the "Publish" button? It has now happened to me twice in a row that various pages were published without me actively clicking "Publish." What else could trigger such a "Publish"?
My name also appears in the change log, can't be right though, since I didn't pay any attention to the button at all.
I’m looking forward to your answers.
Best regards,
Alice
Hi @goodvibingalice ,
Confluence automatically saves a draft of your changes as you edit the page, and if a page is left open in edit mode for a while.
If other users have editing access to the page and make updates, they might publish their changes, resulting in the page being updated without your active involvement. This would explain why your name appears in the change log, as you're listed as the page owner or contributor.
It's worth double-checking who has edit permissions for your pages. You can also check at the version history of the page and see if anyone else(other space admins) made changes (besides you) that could explain the publishing.
Thank you for your answer and your help.
I only became aware of the issue because certain members I originally tagged on the page with an "@-sign" received an e-mail that I had mentioned them.
I was indeed navigating on the page but was only clicking around in the page hierarchy before closing the tab. Two minutes later, the email was sent to the mentioned members.
So, it must have been triggered by me somehow. I'm just wondering how this could happen without clicking "Publish."
