Trying to understand how permissions work

Daniel May 25, 2021

Hey guys, a read the permissions guide but didn't quite find my answer there.

I have a space which is unrestricted as can be seen here.

YYO8w0J

Under Global Permissions I configured it as so:

qEBZAqJ

So now I would expect users which are in "Confluencer-Users" (all of the users) to be able to view that unrestricted space I mentioned before. Instead, I also need to manage permissions under Space Permissions for each individual space?

So for each space I create in the future, I should also add it individually to the space permissions? Even if it's configured to be available to the public?

Hi @Daniel ,

For existing space, you need to authorize users or groups.

Or you can maintain Default Space Permissions first, and subsequent new spaces will inherit this initial configuration.

Thank you, I feel silly for missing that.
