Hello! We are looking to migrate our intranet running on SharePoint 2003 to Confluence. What would be the best approach to this project? Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Stephen
Take a look at
https://migrations.atlassian.net/wiki/display/UWC/Universal+Wiki+Converter
https://bitbucket.org/appfusions/universal-wiki-converter
to start with... But, don't expect this to work out-of-the-box for all cases, especially with Sharepoint
Happy to help with the UWC. Write to info@appfusions.com and yes, as Sash said, the UWC is a tool, not the whole solution. It really depends on the content of your existing system, which is a variable for all "from" systems, but after a test run or two, and discussion on strategy abt archiving, end goals, etc. it's pretty clear on how to move forward to a successful migration, which is all reviewed up and up with you.
Another consideration is if the migration is going into a new Confluence or merging into an existing one, or if there are differences in the user name accounts. If any of these merge considerations, we review that with you too.
Here's a checklist that is useful to understand all the content elements involved, of which some are heavily challenged and some less so or not at all ... simply depends on your unique content.

The point is that there's not a silver bullet. That said though, the UWC will get you 80%+ or more further down the track, which is better than ground-zero.
Hope this helps.
