Restrict creation of pages in confluence space by any user

anuj__sharma February 13, 2017

Is there a way to restrict the creation of pages in a confluence space without modifying any individual  user related permission ?

There is a 'restrict edit of page' option , but still when it is done user can create pages.
I do not want to apply 'restrict view of page' ........basically  i want to make the space readonly.

Please suggest a way.

There's no way to do that.  A user can either create pages in a space, or they can not.

Complex frustrating user privileges are not what Confluence is for, it's for collaboration and sharing.

Hi Anuj,

Nic is right.  You can prevent users from creating pages by giving them view-only permissions, but you can't prevent them from creating pages without changing their permissions.

Permissions affect users, not the pages.  All functionality is always "there" for people to use and it's up to you as an administrator to allow or deny users the permissions they need to use that functionality.
