Over the last 2 weeks, we are seeing latency issues when we go to edit a page. Why?

When users go to edit a page, we get an error. The error on the screen says...  It is taking longer than usual to load this page.  Give it a few moments, then try reloading.  If it still doesnt load, speak to your Confluence admin.

I am the companies Confluence admin.

Why is this happening?

I tried doing a support request but that page is broken for me too.

The error you are reporting comes from Collaborative editing - was your instance recently upgraded to version 6.x?
