We have an external share configured and have been using it for months. Today, all of a sudden the External share button is completely gone and there is only an option to add an External share - as if we need to create a new one.
The only thing that I'm seeing is a message stating that there is an update available for External Share for Confluence app, however when navigating to where the App sits it does not give an option to update. I am an org admin and do have the relevant permissions to update applications. (If that is even related)
Hello @Neil de Hoog
Any chance the Confluence UI has also changed and/or you're participaing in LIve Docs/Edit testing?
Earlier this week, Atlassian rolled out UI changes that made specific buttons of some of the apps disappear. It happened to me too, I opened a ticket and ... here's from the Atlassian coms I received today.
"Content layout update & impact on apps
With this content layout update, marketplace app buttons that have historically lived in the area at the top of your page will no longer appear on pages or live docs. This change is meant to simplify how apps are interacted with in Confluence."
I suggest that you contact the app vendor to tell them about the situation and then get in touch with Atlassian Support.
"Opting out of these content layout changes
We understand that apps can be critical to customer workflows, so if you would like to opt out of these content layout changes in order to maintain access to apps that live in the header area (while also remaining in the Live Docs EAP), you can do so by submitting a support request."
Hello Kristian,
Thank you very much for the response.
We are not participating in Live Docs/Edit - I will log a ticket directly to the app Vendor and will let you know what the feedback is should it help someone else.
Kind regards,
Neil

@Neil de Hoog , excellent, thank you.
I'm posting here a screenshot of differences between old and new UIs - if yours has the elements of the right one, you're affected.

Thanks - yes we definitely have the one on the right.

@Neil de Hoog - yep, it's the new UI and your button's gone as a result of that. So far, I worked with two vendors to rectify the issue, one moved the button to that space below the heading, the other to the page menu.
