Migration self-hosted confluence to cloud possible ?

Christian Tazl March 12, 2015

Hi Guys,

we are using Confluence (V4.3), JIRA (V5.2), Jira Agile, Crucible/Fisheye in our self-hosted instance.
I know that these versions ran out of the end-of-life-cycle and we shoud upgrade to the latest version....

So, I'm currently thinking about to move confluence only from self-hosted version to the cloud-version.

If we do this,
1) is the interaction between the other atlassian tools still possible (e.g. Jira, ...) ?
2) can I move (migrate) our pages from self-hosted to the cloud in an easy way ?
3) we use our internal AD-Groups for authentication - is this also possible in the cloud-version ?

Thanks in advance

Regards
Christian Tazl

Hi Christian,

To answer your third question, LDAP integration with Confluence Cloud is not available. There's a feature request for it, but the developers have stated that although it's something we want to implement eventually, they are not working on it yet. You can see it here and vote on it: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/ID-79.

As for managing users within Confluence Cloud, please see this document: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/Cloud/Managing+Users

Hope this helps!
