We use the comments function in a Confluence Whiteboard to display additional information when hovering over a specific element. Currently, there are 59 comments. (this information is shown when hovering over the whiteboard in the space overview)

However, upon selecting and entering the whiteboard in question, editors and viewers can only see a total of 50 comments in the comment section (see screenshot). If someone adds another comment, the number briefly increases, and then decreases to 50 again, displaying the new comment but deleting a random older one. This seems to be a bug that massively restricts our work with confluence and renders our previous, extensive work on the whiteboard useless. Any help or similar reports are greatly appreciated.

Best

Julian

Hi @info welcome to the community!  Based on this post, I believe you've reached the limit imposed by Atlassian.

If you would like to give feedback to Atlassian, I believe there is a link in the whiteboard, they are encouraging you to provide input on future functionality in that article.

Hope that helps.

Hi Dan, thank you very much for your swift response. I was able to rule out that the maximum of 5000 elements had been reached and took another look. Apparently the comments are not deleted at all, they are just not displayed in the comment bar on the right, it seems at max. the number 50 can be in the brackets here, even if there are more comments. So a purely aesthetic error, thank you very much for your contribution!

Hi @info - thanks for sending us feedback on this! We've just patched this issue and you should no longer be encountering it.
