Is there a way as an admin to control the search rankings to help "clean" up the search results?

Kevin February 28, 2024

I am working on a Confluence redesign for my company and I am interested in positively impacting the search function and user search results.

Am I able to control the search rankings as an admin? Am I able to restrict types of search results to appear?

I do enjoy in the Advance Search area, in "Add filter" and choosing "With title" is a helpful feature! Am I able to permanently upload that feature to the "Filter by" area?

Thank you for any support!

Hi @Kevin ,

our app (Advanced Content Navigator) offers advanced filtering, including page title, create/update date, owner and more. While filtering a single or multiple spaces, you can save your filter criteria, and create "pinned" filters like pages with xy label, created in the last 30 days - and the page tree will show pages only match that criteria.

You can insert this as 1 or more macros, or use the Space Navigator from the Apps menu.

Let me know if this helps?!

Best Regards,

As far as I know, you have zero control over the ranking algorithm.

You may want to explain why to manually override the "default ranking"? Why and what pages do you want to elevate and suppress?

If we knew more, maybe we could suggest an alternative approach.
