Is there a support from Atlassian for migrating from MSSQL to PostgreSQL?

Hello,

I have a very large Confluence instance here and need to migrate it to a new environment.

The current database is a MSSQL but I need to migrate everything to a PostgreSQL db.

Unfortunately the XML backup is not running in a decent amount of time (currently it's already running since 13h).

So my question is if you have tools in place that maybe can help me with the migration.

Also hints to boost the XML backup performance are appreciated.

I think Atlassian will not help on Database migration from one to another.

Did you raised any support ticket, if not , Please try with support , may be then can provide an alternative.

Hi Karsten,

Confluence is terrible at exporting to XML, but there are a few things to try.

• Truncate the synchrony tables
• Delete any unused pages or spaces
• Purge the trash for all spaces
• Modify JVM arguments for efficiency
• Give the host more resources

Outside of that you will be looking into methods not supported by Atlassian or will need help from an Atlassian Partner. Cheers!
