In Confluence administration, how do I disable seeing all the LDAP groups?

Thomas Ehardt April 17, 2013

When I go to Groups under Users & Security in Confluence admin, I see all LDAP groups as well as the internal Confluence groups.

We are using LDAP for authentication and internal Confluence groups for authorization.

Is there a way to disable viewing all the LDAP groups? Perhaps I have something mis-configured:

  • LDAP Permissions are "Read Only, with Local Groups"

When you set your LDAP as Read Only, with Local Groups, the LDAP groups will be imported as Local ones. So we can't separate them on the UI - but you can see which groups belong to the LDAP directly on the database.

If you don't want this groups to be imported at all, you can block this groups of been imported using LDAP filters: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DEV/How+to+write+LDAP+search+filters
