Import a table to another page with locked Filters

Giuseppe Ferrazzo June 9, 2022

Hello,

we use confluence in our Company singe a few month. And now i have a special usecase.

We have a Long table with many information from different departments of our Company. I want to „mirror“ that table to another Site, set a filter on it so there is only one Department visible and give some people of that Department Access to that „mirrored“ Site. But those people should not be allowed to remove the Filter.

Is something like that possible?

Hi @Giuseppe Ferrazzo ,

Do you mean another Confluence space by the "site"?

If that is so, we can suggest using our Table Filter and Charts for Confluence app.

You'll be able to filter your table with the help of the Table Filter macro and then reuse your filtered table in other spaces (or pages in the same space) via the Table Excerpt/Table Excerpt Include macros.

If by the "site" you mean another Confluence instance, you may filter your table and export the result as a CSV file (again the Table Filter macro will help you). Then on the second instance you'll be able to recreate this filtered table with the help of the Table from CSV macro.

If we talk about standard Confluence tools, you may reuse tables with the help of the Excerpt/Excerpt Include macros, but there are no any filtering options out-of-the-box.
